Preservation and Management of Bulgarian Cultural Heritage Sites in the World Heritage and UNESCO Tentative Lists

The Balkan Heritage Foundation conducted practical and theoretical training on the preservation and sustainable management of Bulgaria’s cultural heritage, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List and the Tentative List. The project was funded by a grant from the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria under the “Cultural Heritage 2025” program and is implemented in partnership with the Municipality of Kazanlak.

In the BEMA Online Seminar on Saturday, January 20, 2024, guest lecturer Dr. Katharine Kolpan (Assistant Professor at the Department of Culture, Society, and Justice at the University of Idaho), presented on the following topic: “The Relationship between Skeletons, Trade, and Migration at the Ancient Greek Black Sea Colony of Apollonia Pontica (7th-3rd centuries BCE)”
