
Preservation and Management of Bulgarian Cultural Heritage Sites in the World Heritage and UNESCO Tentative Lists
The Balkan Heritage Foundation conducted practical and theoretical training on the preservation and sustainable management of Bulgaria’s cultural heritage, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List and the Tentative List. The project was funded by a grant from the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria under the “Cultural Heritage 2025” program and is implemented in partnership with the Municipality of Kazanlak.

BHF Launches New Program Heritage Academy
On May 28, 2026, at the two-day forum of the Association of Bulgarian Museums, the “Balkan Heritage” Foundation (BHF) presented its new “Heritage Academy” program, a partnership initiative between the Foundation, the Association of Bulgarian Museums, and the Regional Center for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeast Europe under the auspices of UNESCO.

From April 03 to April 20, 2026, the Regional Ethnographic Museum in Plovdiv, Bulgaria will host the exhibition "Beyond Yesterday" by Romanian anthropologist Dr. Konstantin. The exhibition is dedicated to the journey of the Manakia brothers through the Balkans and the photographs taken by the them more than a century ago.
