2020 Season Postponed
Dear students, colleagues, supporters and friends,
The Coronavirus pandemic is a VIS MAJOR (Force majeure) that has changed the lives we had and forced us all not only to stop traveling but also to stop planning in the way that we were used to. Over the years, the Balkan Heritage Field School has worked hard to provide high-quality training and valuable hands-on and intercultural experiences, to foster global connections, and to support the study and preservation of Balkan cultural heritage. COVID-19 has challenged us but the Balkan Heritage Foundation is counting on you, our friends and supporters from around the world to continue this pursuit.
The severity and impact of this pandemic are unprecedented. The lives, health and safety of all our students and colleagues are our primary concern during this difficult time. Our Board made the difficult decision to postpone all BHFS field schools originally scheduled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic. The next BHFS season will be updated soon after the pandemic emergency is waived by the World Health Organization. Enrollment and applications for the 2020 Season are now closed!
We know that as supporters of cultural heritage you will be disappointed to not be able to participate in a field school. Be assured that BHFS will continue to monitor the situation and look for opportunities to engage our community this summer. All currently enrolled participants shall receive an email from the BHFS admissions officer with details regarding their participation in the Balkan Heritage Field School.
Sincerely,
Ivan Vasilev
Founder and CEO of the Balkan Heritage Foundation
