There is a Balkan Heritage Field School affiliated with this project.
The project for conservation and restoration of textile, paper and metal ecclesiastical artifacts carried out in the labs of the Division Conservation of Antiquities & Works of Art at the Ionian University began in 2017 with the financial support of the Balkan Heritage Foundation. Since then numerous artifacts from various museums throughout Greece have been restored. Beside their conservation and restoration, documentation and scientific analyses such as optical microscopy, XRF and XRD have been conducted.
The artifacts: Ecclesiastical textile, paper and metal objects belonging to the Greek Orthodox Church, dating from the 18th – 20th century.
