On August 17, 2021, the Balkan Heritage Foundation and the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) signed a Memorandum of understanding as the basis for future collaboration in the fields of education, archaeology and conservation. This partnership seeks to address the need for a cohesive education and training program, which combines theory with a practice-based approach for heritage specialists in Bulgaria. Also by giving university and school students the chance to participate in summer camps and educational courses in the fields of history and archaeology the collaboration aims to better protect and  promote the cultural heritage in the region.
