The Balkan Heritage Foundation and the National Library “Ivan Vazov” in Plovdiv present “Documentation and Conservation of Historic Bookbinding Collections” led by Dr. Nikolas Sarris. The seminar will take place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in the period March 20 – 24, 2023.
This bilingual book presents ancient and contemporary mosaic art in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, featuring examples from the “Plovdiv Mosaic Tour,” established in 2021 by the Balkan Heritage Foundation with financial support from the Municipality of Plovdiv. Serving as an exceptional guide, the book introduces the historical context, technology, and interpretation of these mosaics, with contributions from specialists that are presented in a manner accessible to a general audience.
