Preservation and Management of Bulgarian Cultural Heritage Sites in the World Heritage and UNESCO Tentative Lists

The Balkan Heritage Foundation will conduct practical and theoretical training on the preservation and sustainable management of Bulgaria’s cultural heritage, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List and the Tentative List. The project is funded by a grant from the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria under the “Cultural Heritage 2025” program and is implemented in partnership with the Municipality of Kazanlak.

BHF Launches New Program Heritage Academy

On May 28, 2026, at the two-day forum of the Association of Bulgarian Museums, the “Balkan Heritage” Foundation (BHF) presented its new “Heritage Academy” program, a partnership initiative between the Foundation, the Association of Bulgarian Museums, and the Regional Center for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeast Europe under the auspices of UNESCO.

Ancient and Contemporary Mosaics of Plovdiv/ Антични и съвременни мозайки от Пловдив

This bilingual book presents ancient and contemporary mosaic art in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, featuring examples from the “Plovdiv Mosaic Tour,” established in 2021 by the Balkan Heritage Foundation with financial support from the Municipality of Plovdiv. Serving as an exceptional guide, the book introduces the historical context, technology, and interpretation of these mosaics, with contributions from specialists that are presented in a manner accessible to a general audience.
